It is with great
sadness that the family of Mike Dennis Dymott announces his passing.
Mike passed away peacefully in Fort Macleod on Wednesday, Sept. 14,
2011, with his loving wife and best friend Thea and daughters Keli
and Abbi at his side, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Mike is survived by his wife Thea Dymott; daughters, Keli Sandford
(Andy), Abbi Saunders (Wally); mother Betty Dymott; sister Sue Medley
(Dave); niece Denise; nephew Ross; mother-in-law Dorothea; as well
as five grandchildren, Sheaden, Savannah, Austin, Ammi, and Averi.
Mike was predeceased by his father Dennis Dymott and his father-in-law
Ron Viel.
Mike and his family moved to Canada in 1980 from England, and he proudly
became a Canadian citizen in 1984. Mike was an oil and gas drafting
engineer for Jacobs in Calgary. The family settled in the Okotoks/High
River area, moving recently to Granum.
Mike was involved with the Lions Club (Okotoks) and volunteered regularly
with other organizations until diagnosed with MS in 1995. He liked
camping and the outdoors, and assisting his wife at dog shows, where
he was a founding member of the Alberta Boxer Club. Mike also had
a strong love for country music, especially Willie Nelson and Johnny
Cash.
Friends and family are welcome to attend a memorial service, which
will be held at Leyden’s Funeral Home, 4079 First St. W., Claresholm)
on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at 2 p.m.
Flowers are welcome, however, if friends so desire, memorial donations
may be made to the M.S Society of Canada, Alberta Division, http://mssociety.ca/alberta.
